About Buy The Hood
Growing up in inner city Philadelphia Jimmy Williams was taught the importance of community and how to create value by being of service. Initially, he wanted a career in politics, but after learning how business controls politics, he decided to dedicate his life to improving his community by helping families create wealth. He holds or has held licenses in Real Estate, Securities, Life Insurance, and Real Estate Valuation. He is also a Certified Bitcoin Professional. Since 2000 he has used his education and experience to help families build wealth. Jimmy’s work has afforded him the opportunity to speak publicly on various topics and in multiple countries. Jimmy founded Buy The Hood with the intention of using the platform to not only help build a community of financially conscious investors, but also to highlight members of the community who have a positive impact.
Corey also grew up in inner city Philadelphia, and was raised to believe in the power of community. He has an extensive background in education and is certified to teach in many subjects. Corey is co-founder of Babycamp LLC which provides educational support to both students and their parents. He also has years of experience as a real estate investor, and stock options trader.
Corey and Jimmy were High School Classmates and friends at the legendary Central High School in Philadelphia. After hours of conversations about community building and wealth creation they partnered to write a book entitled “Own Your Time and Space”. Corey brought an idea to Jimmy that he never thought of. Jimmy spent over a decade teaching adults the importance of business and investing, but never thought about creating a platform to teach the youth. Corey believed that to make a true impact in the community you must teach multiple generations. They decided to create a partnership aimed at sharing their message with multiple generations. This partnership resulted in The Buy The Hood Ownership Camp for kids ages 5 and up.
Buy The Hood has created a platform that offers affordable online courses to reach more people and continue the mission of building black wealth.
